Phase II Investigations
In addition to offering Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Vieau Associates provides Phase II investigation and assessment services. The purpose of the Phase II investigation process is to confirm or refute suspect conditions, such as soil, groundwater, and soil vapor impacts from releases of hazardous substances, petroleum products or other contaminates.
We have completed Phase II investigations in order to identify the presence, magnitude, and extent of contaminated soil, groundwater, and soil vapor on a wide range of commercial, industrial, and residential properties including:
- gasoline filling stations;

- drycleaners;
- machine shops;
- automotive repair facilities;
- circuit board manufacturers;
- photographic processors;
- bulk oil facilities;
- foundries;
- agricultural facilities;
- single family and multi-family residential properties;
- railroad properties; and
- numerous other commercial and industrial facilities.
Our Phase II investigation process is customized to meet the needs of the client, including budget and time constraints. We are accustomed to designing and completing Phase II investigations in order to facilitate the sale, purchase, refinance, redevelopment, or foreclosure of a property. We maintain relationships with numerous certified laboratories and licensed drilling subcontractors in order to efficiently and effectively provide reliable testing results that are widely accepted by regulatory agencies. Our goal is to provide a high degree of confidence as to the presence or absence of contamination, all while minimizing disturbance to the property, controlling costs, and expediting results.
